The story is quite known. A joint venture to unite two brands with a linked history but a different identity for a mid engined small car to substitute the Porsche 912 on one hand and the VW Karmann-Ghia on the other (evenf if the KG stood still at its place till 1974!).
“In medio stat virtus” philosophers say, but maybe not this time. Too much for a VW not much for a Porsche, the 914 never got the hoped success.
It’s gettin’ some attention in this years and I’m glad of it as if you don’t care about brands and identity, you get a fancy midengined small car to drive and have fun.
